# Credits

Understand what a credit is and how AI Visibility runs use credits

Credits measure how many AI Visibility runs you use. They make usage predictable because every prompt run across a provider consumes a fixed unit.

## What is a credit?

One credit equals one prompt run on one provider.

Example: if one prompt runs across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, that run uses 3 credits. If the same prompt runs daily across those 3 providers, it uses about 91 credits per month.

## What affects usage?

- **Number of prompts:** more prompts mean more runs.
- **Number of providers:** every active provider uses credits for each prompt run.
- **Cadence:** daily runs use more credits than weekly runs.
- **Projects:** each project can have its own prompts, providers, and cadence.

Competitors do not use extra credits. They are analyzed inside the same answer when they are configured in your project.

## Example calculation

If you run 10 prompts across 4 providers weekly, that is about:

10 prompts × 4 providers × 4.3 weeks = about 172 credits per month.

If the same prompts run daily, usage increases accordingly:

10 prompts × 4 providers × about 30.4 days = about 1,216 credits per month.
