# Prompt setup

Define the questions, markets, competitors, and cadence for AI Visibility

Prompts are the questions aclipp runs across AI providers. A good prompt reflects something your audience, stakeholders, customers, journalists, or leadership might actually ask an AI assistant.

## What to configure

- **Prompt text:** the question or task the AI provider should answer.
- **Market or country:** the region the prompt is meant to represent.
- **Language:** the language used for the prompt and answer evaluation.
- **Competitors:** brands you want to compare against your own. Learn more in [Competitor setup](/help/ai-visibility/competitors).
- **Cadence:** how often the prompt should run.
- **Providers:** which AI models should answer the prompt.

## Good prompt examples

- "Which PR reporting tools are best for agencies?"
- "Which brands are leading in sustainable running shoes in Germany?"
- "What are the best media monitoring tools for corporate communications teams?"
- "Which companies are known for strong AI visibility monitoring?"

## Tips

- Use natural questions instead of keyword lists.
- Create prompt groups for products, markets, competitors, and campaigns.
- Track both broad category prompts and specific buying-intent prompts.
- Keep important prompts stable over time so trends are comparable.
- Use a faster cadence for high-priority prompts and a slower cadence for exploratory prompts.

Credits depend on how many prompts, providers, and runs you use. Learn more in [Credits](/help/ai-visibility/credits).
