# Join by Domain

Let colleagues with your company email join without an invitation

Verify your company's email domain, and colleagues who sign up with an address on it can join your organization without an invitation. Only admins can set this up.

## Verify a domain

1. In [**Settings > Organization**](app:/settings/organization), click **Add domain** and enter your domain, for example `acme.com`.
2. Add the TXT record aclipp shows at your DNS provider.
3. Click **Verify**. DNS changes can take a few minutes, so try again if the record isn't found yet.

Free email domains like gmail.com can't be added, and a subdomain such as `de.acme.com` needs its own entry.

## How colleagues join

When someone signs up with a confirmed address on your domain, aclipp offers them your organization first.

- By default they **ask to join**. Admins get an email and decide under [**Settings > Users**](app:/settings/users), in the **Requests** tab.
- With **Join automatically** turned on, they join right away.

New members start as [editors](/help/organizations/roles).

## Keep the record in place

aclipp checks the record daily. If it's missing three days in a row, nobody can join through the domain until you add it back and click **Verify**. Removing a domain doesn't remove existing members.
