Outlets
How media sources are managed across your organization
An outlet is a specific media source, like "Spiegel Online", "TechCrunch", or a YouTube channel. Every clipping is linked to an outlet, which belongs to a channel (Online, Print, YouTube, etc.).
Organization-level#
Outlets are shared across your entire organization, not scoped to a single project. This means all projects within your organization share the same outlet data. When an outlet's metrics are updated, the change is reflected everywhere.
Automatic creation#
Outlets are automatically created when you add clippings. If aclipp's AI detects a source that doesn't exist yet, it creates the outlet and fills in available data like name, URL, profile image, and channel-specific metrics (followers, subscribers, monthly visitors, etc.).
You can also create outlets manually from the Outlets page.
Managing outlets#
In the Outlets page, you can:
- View all outlets and their metrics (followers, subscribers, circulation, etc.).
- Edit outlet details like name, country, or channel.
- Refresh data to pull the latest metrics from the source.
- Merge duplicate outlets if the same source was captured with slightly different names.
Outlet metrics by channel#
Each channel tracks different outlet-level metrics. For example, a YouTube outlet has subscribers, an Online outlet has monthly visitors, and a Print outlet has circulation and page price.
