Create and manage clippings

Add clippings via URLs, files, browser extension, or CSV/Excel import and move them between projects

Clippings are the building blocks of your reports and analytics. Every article, post, or mention you capture becomes a clipping that AI enriches with data, metrics, and insights.

Automate with integrations

The fastest way to get clippings into aclipp is through aclipp Monitoring and integrations, including RSS feeds, Google Alerts, and professional monitoring services. Set them up once and new coverage flows in automatically.

Ways to add clippings#

Go to the Clippings tab in your project to get started.

URLs#

Paste one or more URLs and aclipp does the rest. This is the fastest way to add online coverage manually. Paste up to 250 URLs at once, and each one is automatically processed by AI to extract the article content, metadata, outlet, and media value.

Files#

Upload images or PDFs of print articles, screenshots, or any other coverage. AI reads the content and pre-fills the clipping details. You can upload multiple files at once.

From scratch#

Create a clipping without a URL or file. Useful for TV segments, radio mentions, or any coverage where you want to enter the details yourself.

Browser extension#

Capture coverage while browsing. Click the aclipp extension, take a screenshot (full-page or cropped), and the clipping is created with AI-extracted data. Learn more in the Browser Extension guide.

CSV & Excel import#

Import many clippings at once by uploading a CSV or Excel file (.xlsx), or by pasting CSV data directly. AI maps your columns to the right fields automatically. You can double-click any cell to fix values before importing, and aclipp shows an overview of every new outlet and tag that will be created.

For all methods, AI automatically extracts metadata, detects channels and outlets, calculates media value, and suggests metrics and tags. You can always review and adjust before saving.

Move clippings between projects#

If a clipping was added to the wrong project, you can move it to another project in the same organization. The destination must have PR Analytics enabled; only eligible projects appear in the list.

  • One clipping: Open its ••• menu in the Clippings table or clipping details and select Move to project.
  • Several clippings: Select them in the Clippings table and choose Move to project in the batch actions bar.

Choose the destination project and confirm. Clippings must finish processing before you can move them.

Files, content, outlet, and other standard details stay with the clipping. Tags and custom metric values are carried over when the destination has a compatible equivalent. Unmatched or incompatible values, including project-specific formula values, are removed. The clipping's relevancy is reset for the destination project.

Check currency values

aclipp does not convert currency-denominated values when moving a clipping. If the projects use different currencies, review and adjust those values after the move.
