Compare AI assistants, citations, and answer behavior across providers

Providers are the AI assistants or models that answer your prompts. Running the same prompt across multiple providers helps you see whether your brand is visible consistently or only in specific AI systems.

Different providers can produce different results because they use different models, retrieval systems, citation behavior, and answer formats. Treat provider differences as signal: they show where your brand narrative is strong, weak, or dependent on specific sources.

What results include#

For each prompt run, aclipp turns the answer into structured AI Visibility data:

  • Answer text: what the provider said.
  • Brand mentions: which tracked brands or competitors appeared.
  • Position and prominence: where and how strongly each brand appeared.
  • Citations and sources: URLs or domains the provider cited when available.
  • Sentiment and framing: whether the answer described a brand positively, neutrally, or negatively.
  • Share of voice: how often your brand appears compared with competitors.
  • Gap Score: prompts or source areas where competitors are stronger or better cited.

Not every provider returns citations in the same way. Some providers cite many sources, some cite fewer, and some answers may rely more on the model's internal knowledge than explicit web citations.

ChatGPT#

ChatGPT is a conversational AI assistant for broad questions, recommendations, and comparisons. Its strength is showing how your brand is framed in categories, buying-intent questions, and general recommendations.

Gemini#

Gemini is Google's AI assistant and is useful for broad market, product, and category questions. Its strength is web-aware answers and comparisons where Google context matters.

Google AI Mode#

Google AI Mode shows AI-generated answers directly inside Google search experiences. Its strength is questions with clear search intent, such as category research, vendor discovery, product comparisons, or local and market-specific topics.

Google AI Overviews#

Google AI Overviews summarize search results into an AI answer and often surface sources or supporting pages. Their strength is showing which domains, articles, and owned pages Google draws from for a topic.

Perplexity#

Perplexity is a citation-focused AI assistant. Its strength is making the sources, domains, and articles that shape an answer visible.

Claude#

Claude is strong at longer synthesis, context, and qualitative analysis. Its strength is summarizing positioning, messaging, and more complex competitor comparisons in a nuanced way.

Grok#

Grok is useful for current public narratives and fast-moving discussions. Its strength is campaign, news, reputation, and public-discourse topics.

Mistral#

Mistral offers a European model perspective and works well for multilingual monitoring. Its strength is comparing visibility outside the most common US-centric AI systems.
