Onclusive Alternatives 2026: Media Intelligence Platforms Compared

Compare Onclusive alternatives by channel coverage, managed service, press review licensing, AI visibility, and what each one publishes about price.

Onclusive was assembled by acquisition. Symphony Technology Group merged Kantar's Reputation Intelligence business, PRgloo and the original Onclusive at the start of 2022, then added Critical Mention and the social listening platform Digimind in the same year. Its company page reports around 1,100 people and 13,000 customers. In Germany the business operates as Onclusive Media GmbH, based in Hamburg.

The scale is real. Its monitoring page states 3 million or more online sources, over 60,000 print titles across Europe and more than 12,000 broadcast sources, adding up to a claimed 28 million earned media items a day, with 25 or more social platforms listed on the homepage. Its press reviews page describes those reviews as fully copyright compliant, supported by licensing agreements and local market expertise, with multi-market licensing and cross-border sharing rights. For a communications team that needs licensed print in several European countries, that is a short list of providers to choose from.

Two recent developments are worth putting on the agenda anyway. In March 2026 Onclusive launched its Unified Platform, which merges monitoring, measurement, press reviews, the contacts database and analytics into one login. That is a good moment to ask a procurement question: do your saved searches, archives, dashboards and reports carry over to the product you are actually contracted for? And in September 2023 the French operation registered a restructuring with Eurofound covering 209 of 447 jobs, attributed to more use of AI in the company's work, with Critical Mention software taking over article compilation and summaries. If you buy Onclusive for analyst-written output, ask in writing which parts of your deliverable a person still produces.

Here is how the realistic alternatives compare.

What to pin down before you collect offers

Most of this category is quoted rather than listed. Onclusive quotes individually for monitoring, press reviews and the contacts database. The exception is its AI search product, and I will come back to that, because it is the one place where Onclusive publishes numbers and they make a useful benchmark.

Get every vendor to answer the same six questions in writing:

  • Which publishers are licensed for press reviews, in which countries, and for how many recipients
  • Which channels are included per country rather than in the global feature list
  • Which analyses a person writes and which the system generates
  • How many seats are included, and what a seat costs beyond that
  • What you can export, in which format, if you leave
  • Whether AI answer tracking is included, an add-on, or a separate contract

The last one has become the fastest-moving line in these proposals. Onclusive sells GEO Analytics, Meltwater has GenAI Lens, CisionOne has AI Visibility dashboards, OBSERVER runs prompt monitoring. The capability is common now. The pricing is not.

The seven alternatives in detail

1. aclipp: best when you want analysis and reporting in your own hands

First, the boundary: aclipp is a PR analytics platform from Germany, software rather than an analyst house. Nobody writes your quarterly review for you, you build it in aclipp yourself, with custom KPIs, tone and key-message analysis and competitor comparison. If you would rather ask questions than build dashboards, connect aclipp to Claude or ChatGPT through its API and MCP and get analyses and report drafts in conversation. For studies that really need an analyst team, aclipp refers you to agencies in its partner network. aclipp does not license print across several European countries itself, that is Onclusive's strength. For the DACH region, aclipp brings its own print database of more than 20,000 titles with circulation and reach figures, with rights running through PMG.

Coverage comes from the built-in monitoring, online across more than 150 million sources, plus social, podcasts and video, or through integrations with Landau Media, OBSERVER, Argus, Meltwater and Talkwalker, plus RSS and Google Alerts. Bringing data together from different sources is the core idea of aclipp. Onclusive exports can be processed via import or API, no dedicated connector needed. Everything feeds custom KPIs, dashboards and white-label reports as PDF or PowerPoint. aclipp is built and hosted in Germany, and the data stays in the EU.

PR Analytics is €99 per month billed annually, and standard plans include unlimited internal users from the same email domain, though users outside your domain may incur additional charges.

AI visibility is part of the same picture. aclipp tracks how brands appear in AI answers across eight providers, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Grok and Mistral, selectable per project, and reports them in the same dashboards and reports as earned media. It is sold as a separate product from €49 per month billed annually. See AI Visibility.

Best fit: teams who want to prove what their PR achieves and keep analysis and reporting in their own hands.

2. PRophet Media Intelligence: best like-for-like in Europe

The former UNICEPTA is built along similar lines: an enterprise European provider selling monitoring and analyst-led analysis under one contract. It monitors more than 460 million sources a day, combines crawling and AI text mining with human analysts, and sells media analysis, alerting, social listening, a Generative Engine Optimization package and a Microsoft Copilot integration.

It comes with the same caveat in reverse. Stagwell acquired UNICEPTA and PRophet announced the integration as complete in June 2025, so ask how the combined workflow actually runs today rather than assuming the old UNICEPTA setup. If you are leaving Onclusive because ownership changes unsettled you, this one is not the escape.

Compare UNICEPTA and its alternatives

Best fit: enterprises replacing one European managed contract with another.

3. Landau Media and OBSERVER: best for DACH sources and press reviews

Both cover print, online, TV, radio, podcasts and social in the German-speaking markets, and both sell monitoring together with press reviews and media analysis. OBSERVER consolidates output in its Media Intelligence Office and adds prompt monitoring across major AI services, so put it side by side with GEO Analytics on the AI question rather than assuming it is the smaller option.

For German, Austrian and Swiss coverage, ask both for a source list and compare it against what Onclusive currently delivers for those countries specifically. Global source counts settle nothing about regional trade press. Both providers also integrate with aclipp.

Best fit: organisations whose reporting stands or falls on DACH coverage.

4. pressrelations: best when you are really buying the analysts

pressrelations runs NewsRadar across print, online, social media, radio, TV, podcasts, specialist media, blogs and forums from twelve locations, with benchmark, reputation and issues analysis plus FirstSignals trend detection. News Managers compile personalised media reviews alongside the automated output.

This is the alternative to shortlist if the 2023 restructuring in France is what put Onclusive on your review list. The question to ask both providers is the same: who writes the commentary, and where do they sit.

Best fit: teams who buy interpretation rather than volume.

5. Argus Data Insights: best for Switzerland

Argus operates in Switzerland and Germany, with German, French, and English websites and multilingual AI Brand Intelligence modules. ARGUSavenue, ARGUSspot, and ARGUSintelligence are its customer platforms, alongside a press release service and media analysis. Its public pages do not provide a current source panel by country and language, so compare a current Argus source list with the country list Onclusive quotes you. Argus integrates with aclipp.

Best fit: organisations whose reporting has to cover Switzerland properly.

6. PMG MediaHub: best when the real problem is licensing

If what you value most in Onclusive is the copyright-compliant press review, compare it against PMG directly. PMG covers more than 3,000 media sources across print and online publications, news-agency wires, newsletters and podcast transcripts, and licences are acquired inside the workflow so articles can be circulated with the correct usage rights.

PMG also publishes figures, which is rare here. MediaHub portal access is €50, €100 or €150 per month, the optional Pressespiegel-Manager is €150 per month, and MediaMeter analysis packages run from €2,095 to €9,925 a year. The monthly tiers are access fees. Per-article licence costs are charged separately by publication and recipient count, all excluding VAT, so ask for a sample calculation on your real article volume.

Best fit: organisations whose press review has turned into a legal question.

7. Meltwater and CisionOne: best for coverage beyond Europe

Both sell global coverage rather than a European focus, and both include AI answer tracking, GenAI Lens for Meltwater and AI Visibility dashboards for CisionOne. Ask each vendor for a country-by-country source list rather than comparing headline totals. CisionOne adds a database of more than 500,000 validated journalists and outlets, against Onclusive's 300,000 or more GDPR-compliant media contacts and 250,000 future events.

Neither is positioned as a German press review provider, so a European team may still need a local specialist alongside.

Best fit: organisations whose footprint is genuinely global.

The AI visibility comparison Onclusive makes easy

Onclusive publishes GEO Analytics pricing, which is unusual for a vendor that quotes everything else. It tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Claude and Perplexity, reports share of voice, sentiment, cited sources, priority source targets and anomaly detection, and sits inside the Unified Platform. The figures below sit under a "Choose Your Annual Plan" heading, so they are annual-plan monthly equivalents rather than month-to-month rates.

TierPriceCountriesAI enginesPrompts
StarterFrom $105/month1ChatGPT80
EssentialFrom $280/month1ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini240
ProfessionalFrom $1,255/month3All five720
EnterpriseCustom5All five2,000

Read the Starter tier carefully. At $105 a month on an annual plan you get one country and one engine, which is ChatGPT only. Three engines start at $280. For comparison, aclipp AI Visibility covers eight providers from €49 per month billed annually, Peec AI and Otterly.AI publish their own tiers, and Meltwater and CisionOne fold the capability into a custom quote where you cannot see what it costs at all.

The point is not that one number beats another. Prompt volumes, country coverage and how the results connect to your earned media reporting all differ. But GEO Analytics is the one Onclusive product you can price-check without a call, and that is worth using.

Conclusion

Onclusive documents broad monitoring coverage and a licensing position built on agreements with publishers and rights organisations, which is what you are buying for licensed print across Europe. If that is what you buy it for and the service holds, changing supplier for its own sake is not a plan.

If you are reviewing anyway, separate the two decisions. The sources and licences, where Landau Media, OBSERVER and pressrelations cover DACH, Argus covers Switzerland, and PMG makes the licensing arithmetic explicit. And the analysis layer, where the difference is how fast you can build a report and whether anyone will tell you the price before the call.

aclipp handles monitoring, KPIs and reporting, connects to the DACH providers you already pay, and publishes what it costs.
