Profound Alternatives for PR Teams in 2026
How Profound and seven alternatives handle AI providers, cited sources, media context, and reporting for communications teams.

Brand Radar comes from SEO and leans on search demand. PR teams need their own prompts, cited outlets and one report alongside press coverage. Seven alternatives, with prices.
Sascha KirsteinAhrefs Brand Radar comes at AI visibility from the SEO side. Ahrefs takes real queries from its keyword database, turns them into questions, runs more than 448 million of those prompts through AI providers and stores the answers. Type in any brand and you see mentions, citations, AI share of voice and estimated impressions straight away. There is nothing to set up, and the history goes back to 2025.
For an SEO team that already works in Ahrefs, that is a strong offer. PR and communications teams tend to ask a different question. They want to know how AI answers talk about their own messages, spokespeople and campaigns, which media outlets those answers cite, and how all of that fits into the report that also covers press coverage. An index built from search demand covers the first part well when a brand has search volume. The rest usually happens outside the SEO suite.
This comparison explains how Brand Radar is priced and looks at seven alternatives. aclipp is our own product, so for every tool we also say when it fits better than ours. For the wider category, see our comparison of AI visibility tools for PR teams.
The seven alternatives are aclipp, Semrush AI Visibility, SE Visible, Peec AI, Profound, Otterly.AI and Scrunch. All of them let you track your own prompts. aclipp is built for communications teams and puts AI visibility next to media monitoring and PR reporting in one workspace. The others come from SEO, GEO or AEO. Semrush sells media monitoring, but as a separate toolkit.
Brand Radar has two parts, and they are priced separately.
The AI Visibility Index is the pre-collected database. It covers Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Ahrefs re-tests the chatbot question sets monthly on a 90-day reporting window. Ahrefs itself says the index works best for established brands and topics with real search demand. Individual provider indexes start at $199 per month each. All providers together cost $699 per month.
Custom Prompts are the questions you define yourself. They run on the six index providers plus Claude, at a daily, weekly or monthly cadence. Paid Ahrefs plans include a small daily quota: 5 prompts on Lite ($129 per month), 10 on Standard and 20 on Advanced. Extra check packages start at $50 per month for 2,500 checks. One check is one prompt on one provider in one location per run, and a Claude run uses 8 checks.
The AI Visibility Index is also sold on its own, without a paid Ahrefs plan. That matters for a PR team that does not otherwise use Ahrefs.

Prices come from the vendors' public pages, checked on September 30, 2026, excluding tax. Visitors from Germany see euro prices from Ahrefs, Semrush, Peec AI and Otterly.AI, while SE Visible and Scrunch show dollar prices only. Semrush's German pricing page shows €94.94 per month per domain, billed annually. Annual billing, extra providers, prompt packs and enterprise terms change the actual cost.
aclipp is a PR analytics platform. Media monitoring, AI Visibility (GEO) and reporting run in one workspace. You define the prompts that matter for your brand and campaigns, pick competitors, and choose from nine providers per project, among them ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot. Each prompt is tied to a country, so Germany, Austria and Switzerland can be tracked as separate markets. aclipp shows which outlets and URLs AI answers cite and classifies them by source type: editorial, reference, institutional, corporate or user-generated.
In practice, a monthly report can show what share of the sources cited for your prompts are editorial, corporate or user-generated, and list the cited articles. Your team can then compare that list with the outlets it pitches and with the coverage in the same report. If trade media carry the answers, that is a good sign your earned media is landing. If corporate pages and forums dominate, that is where PR work can start. Results feed dashboards and white-label reports as PDF or, where enabled, PowerPoint, next to clippings and PR KPIs. An API and an MCP server are available.
AI Visibility starts at €49 per month billed annually, or €59 monthly, for 2,500 credits. One credit is one prompt run on one provider. That covers, for example, about 20 prompts on four providers every day, roughly 2,400 to 2,480 credits a month. aclipp is developed in Germany and operated GDPR-compliant in the EU. Published plans include unlimited internal users from the same email domain; users outside that domain may incur additional charges.
aclipp has no index of hundreds of millions of search-derived prompts. If you want to see a whole market's AI visibility without choosing prompts first, Ahrefs does that better.

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit costs from $99 per month per domain, billed annually. It includes 25 tracked prompts with daily updates, AI visibility reports for any domain, competitor and prompt research, and a site audit for AI readiness. It tracks mentions in ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. Additional domains or locations for Brand Performance cost $99 each, and 50 extra prompts cost $60 per month.
For teams already on Semrush this is the obvious counterpart to Brand Radar, with a lower entry price and a smaller prompt allowance. Like Ahrefs, it sits in an SEO workflow. Media monitoring is sold separately in Semrush's AI PR Toolkit, and it does not feed AI visibility into a PR clipping report.

SE Visible comes from SE Ranking and is sold as its own product. Basic costs $99 per month, or $79 per month billed annually, and includes 200 prompts, three projects and five providers: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Users are unlimited. SE Visible collects answers through the providers' browser interface, not through APIs, and refreshes them daily. It lists source categories such as media, blogs and forums.
The API covers everything in the interface except user and subscription management, and there is a 10-day free trial. White-label reporting is not available yet. Countries and languages are limited to a fixed list, which includes Germany and German.
Peec AI's Starter plan costs $95 per month and includes 50 prompts, daily tracking, one project, unlimited users and three providers you choose. Additional providers cost extra per month. Peec shows visibility, position, sentiment, share of voice and cited sources, and classifies cited sources into categories like editorial, reference or UGC. SSO and API access are Enterprise-only.
Languages are unlimited on every plan. Starter covers one country and Pro and Advanced cover three; beyond those caps, Peec does not charge per country or language. Annual billing saves 15%. Peec suits marketing and SEO teams that want a focused GEO tool without a suite around it.

For brands, Profound's pricing page lists two options: a free trial, with 50 prompts run daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and a custom Enterprise package. Enterprise tracks up to nine providers and adds SSO, SOC 2 compliance, dedicated support and credits for Profound's AI Marketer agents. Both options include unlimited seats.
This fits large marketing organizations that want AEO as its own function, with content and agent workflows. There is no public price, so anyone leaving Brand Radar over its per-provider pricing cannot compare costs before a sales call.
Otterly.AI's Lite plan costs $29 per month and includes 15 prompts, daily tracking and unlimited team members. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot are included. Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons. Standard, at $189 per month, includes 100 prompts, API access, MCP and a Looker Studio connector.
Every plan supports more than 50 countries, and annual billing saves 15%. That is enough to test AI visibility on a handful of questions. Costs rise with prompts and add-on providers.
Scrunch's Core plan costs $250 per month and includes 125 prompts, 5,000 responses, five site audits and five users. Core tracks four providers, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, in one country and one language. Enterprise expands to nine providers and adds the Agent Experience Platform, API access and SSO. A 7-day free trial is available.
Scrunch is built for teams that want to change how AI crawlers read their website, not only measure answers. A PR team that mainly needs reporting probably does not need much of that optimization layer.
Brand Radar makes sense if your SEO team already works in Ahrefs and wants AI visibility next to backlinks, keywords and site audits. It is also the better tool if you want to research any brand or category instantly, look back at historical answers, or weight visibility by real search volume. None of the alternatives here offers an index of that size.
An alternative is worth a look when your questions are about messages and campaigns rather than search demand, when your brand has little search volume, or when AI visibility has to appear in the same report as your press coverage. Semrush and SE Visible stay close to the SEO workflow, Peec AI and Otterly.AI are lean standalone tools, and Profound and Scrunch lean more toward enterprise AEO and technical optimization.
For PR and communications teams, aclipp puts AI visibility next to media monitoring and reporting, so you can show what PR achieved in the press and in AI answers in one place. Our guides on GEO vs. SEO and AI visibility metrics help you decide which numbers belong in that report.
