7 Ahrefs Brand Radar Alternatives for PR Teams in 2026
Brand Radar comes from SEO and leans on search demand. PR teams need their own prompts, cited outlets and one report alongside press coverage. Seven alternatives, with prices.

Semrush measures AI visibility inside an SEO workflow. Seven alternatives compared for PR and communications teams on providers, context, and current pricing.
Sascha KirsteinSemrush added AI visibility to a product that many marketing teams already use every day. The AI Visibility Toolkit shows how a domain appears in ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, and Perplexity, compares it with competitors, suggests prompts, and audits whether a site is ready for AI crawlers. For an SEO team that already tracks keywords in Semrush, that is a short path. Login, domain logic, and reports stay the same.
PR and communications teams tend to come at the same question from another side. They want to know whether their coverage, spokespeople, and messages show up when someone asks an AI assistant about their brand or category, and they need to report that next to press coverage. Semrush measures GEO inside an SEO workflow, while PR teams tend to need the measurement inside a communications workflow. Whether an alternative is worth it probably depends more on that than on individual features.
This comparison looks at seven alternatives and describes each one in the same format. aclipp is our own product, so for every tool we also say when it fits better than ours. Semrush also sells an AI PR Toolkit, the former Prowly, for media contacts and outreach. That is a separate product, and we compare it with aclipp on our Semrush AI PR Toolkit alternative page.

Prices come from the vendors' public pages, checked on September 30, 2026 from Germany. The Semrush and Ahrefs pricing pages showed euro prices on that check; the Semrush dollar price comes from its knowledge base and US pricing page. The other tools are listed in the currency the vendor publishes. Per-domain fees, add-on providers, extra users, credits, and annual billing change the real cost.
Who reads the result? If the audience is an SEO lead who looks at rankings and technical fixes, a tool inside the SEO suite is convenient. If it is a head of communications, leadership, or an agency client, AI visibility needs to sit next to coverage, share of voice, and campaign results.
How is the price counted? Semrush bills the toolkit per domain. Each extra domain for Brand Performance costs another $99 a month, and 50 extra prompts cost $60, according to the Semrush knowledge base. Extra users are an add-on too. The pricing page lists them from €43 a month in Germany ($45 in the US), while the knowledge base still cites $99 per user license. Other tools count prompts, credits, or projects. Model your real setup: brands, competitors, markets, providers, and how often prompts run.
Which providers matter in your market? The Base plan covers ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, and Perplexity. Teams that also need Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, or Mistral should check which alternative covers them and whether they cost extra.
Which language and region do the prompts run in? The same question asked in German from Vienna and in English from New York can produce different answers. Tools also collect answers differently. Some query a provider's API, others capture what the consumer interface shows. API output and the consumer interface do not always match, which is one reason two tools can report different visibility for the same brand. Check where and how each tool runs its prompts before comparing numbers across tools.
Where do the sources lead? AI answers often cite news sites, trade media, and reference pages. For PR, the useful question is which outlets and URLs support an answer. That is where a communications team can start.
The Base plan costs $99 per domain per month, billed annually. Viewed from Germany, the pricing page shows €94.94 per month per domain, billed annually. The plan tracks 25 prompts with daily rankings and includes one domain for Brand Performance analysis. Mentions come from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, and Perplexity. Competitor research, prompt research, and an AI search check in Site Audit are part of the plan too.
The pricing page groups AI Overviews and AI Mode together as "Google AI". In its knowledge base, Semrush lists the two separately for Brand Performance. How the other reports handle them is best checked in a demo.
Semrush One bundles SEO and AI visibility and raises prompt tracking to 50, 100, or 200 prompts depending on the tier. Enterprise AIO is a separate product, sold on custom pricing through a demo. Semrush says Enterprise AIO monitors a database of more than 289 million LLM prompts, analyzes visibility by brand, product, market, and city, and gives prioritized content recommendations.
Strengths. Keyword data, site audits, and AI visibility live in one account. Prompt research works like keyword research, which SEO teams already know.
Limitations. Billing follows domains, and each extra user is an add-on. The pricing page and the knowledge base quote different per-user prices, so ask sales which one applies. Media monitoring and PR reporting are not part of the toolkit, and the AI PR Toolkit is a separate product.
If your team already runs SEO in Semrush and AI visibility mainly feeds content and technical work, Semrush is probably a better fit than any other tool on this list.
aclipp is an independent PR analytics platform from Germany. Media monitoring, AI Visibility (GEO), and reporting run in one workspace. Prompts, competitors, mentions, and cited sources sit next to clippings, campaign KPIs, and share of voice, so a team can show what PR achieved in media and in AI answers in the same report. aclipp shows which outlets and URLs AI answers cite and classifies those sources by type: editorial, reference, institutional, corporate, or user-generated, with your own and competitor domains marked separately. Results feed dashboards and white-label PDF reports and, where enabled, PowerPoint exports. The API and MCP server bring the data into other systems and AI assistants.
Teams choose providers per project from nine: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, and Mistral. You set the frequency and the country per prompt. AI Visibility starts at €49 per month billed yearly, or €59 billed monthly, for 2,500 credits, where one credit is one prompt run on one provider.
For scale, Semrush Base runs 25 prompts daily on the four providers named on the pricing page, about 3,100 runs a month. aclipp counts a month as 31 days, so 2,500 credits cover 25 prompts on three providers daily (2,325 credits) or 20 prompts on four (2,480). Weekly prompts use a seventh of that. aclipp lists Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode as two providers, so a like-for-like count depends on how you treat Semrush's "Google AI".
aclipp is developed in Germany and operated GDPR-compliant in the EU. Published plans include unlimited internal users from the same email domain; users outside that domain may incur additional charges.
Strengths. AI visibility and earned media are reported together, with the same competitors in both views. Credits are shared across providers rather than priced per domain.
Limitations. aclipp has no keyword rank tracking, backlink index, or prompt-volume database. SEO teams that want AI visibility next to those data sets are better served by Semrush or Ahrefs.

Brand Radar has two parts. The AI Visibility Index runs more than 448 million prompts, built from Ahrefs keyword data, through AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot. The entry price is €179 per month for one platform; all six cost €654 per month. Custom Prompts track your own questions daily and add Claude. Every paid Ahrefs plan includes custom prompts, five on Lite (150 checks a month), and larger check-based packages start at €47 per month.
Strengths. Brand mentions tie back to search demand, and teams can benchmark any brand without setup. YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit visibility are included while in beta.
Limitations. Like Semrush, it is built for SEO teams. Checks count per provider, and Claude uses eight checks per update, so costs grow with coverage. The index is re-tested monthly on a 90-day window, so daily tracking of your own questions needs custom prompts.

SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility product. Basic costs $99 per month with 200 prompts, three projects, and tracking on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity, and AI Overviews. Core costs $189 with 450 prompts and five projects, and annual plans save 20%. Users are unlimited.
Strengths. More prompts per dollar than Semrush Base, and several brands on one plan.
Limitations. Claude is listed as coming soon, so coverage is five providers today. Basic stops at three projects, so an agency with more clients moves to Core or Plus.
Peec AI Starter costs $95 per month with 50 prompts, three selectable providers, one project, unlimited users, and daily tracking. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and Naver AI are available on all plans, while Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Mistral, and others are paid upgrades. Each additional provider costs $35 a month on Starter.
Strengths. A clear interface, source classification, and unlimited users from the first plan.
Limitations. Three active providers per brand plan unless you pay for more. Starter has one project, so a second brand means Pro at $245 with two projects. Agencies get their own plans: Essential costs the same as Pro but comes with 10,000 credits, three projects, and all six standard models.
Otterly.AI Lite costs $29 per month, or $25 billed annually, with 15 prompts, daily tracking, and unlimited team members. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot are included. Google AI Mode and Gemini cost $9 each on Lite and Claude $29. Standard costs $189 with 100 prompts, API, and MCP access.
Strengths. The cheapest way on this list to find out whether AI visibility is worth tracking at all.
Limitations. Add-on prices rise with the plan. Claude costs $109 a month on Standard and $439 on Premium. Lite's 15 prompts are a small sample once a brand has several markets or products.
Profound now offers a free trial with 50 prompts run daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. Beyond that, it sells Enterprise packages on custom pricing, with up to nine providers, API access, SSO, and AI Marketer agents that find, draft, and stage content, optimization, and outreach work for approval. Its site also names PR and brand teams as an audience.
Strengths. Prompt-volume data, agent traffic analytics, and content workflows for large programs, with unlimited seats.
Limitations. There is no public paid plan to compare against Semrush's $99. The trial runs a recommended prompt set that you can't edit. Media monitoring is not part of the product.
Rankscale lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude, Grok, and Copilot, with more available. Essentials starts at $20 per month; Pro costs $99 with 1,200 credits. Runs can be scheduled from hourly to monthly, and Growth adds white-label dashboards and a REST API.
Strengths. Wide provider coverage on every plan and flexible cadence.
Limitations. Credit use depends on the providers you select, which makes cost harder to predict. White-label and API start on Growth at $385.

Semrush is a sensible choice for teams whose GEO work belongs to SEO. The alternatives above mostly shift the trade-offs: more prompts, more providers, lower entry prices, or deeper enterprise features. For PR and communications teams, the question is where the result ends up. If AI answers need to be explained next to press coverage, with the cited outlets in view, a PR analytics workspace saves the step of merging two reports.
